These embroidery cases were commissioned by Textile Artist Rebecca Devaney. The fixtures and fittings required for a professional embroider were identified and every item was considered; containers for sequins, cards for threads, needle holders, drawers, a cotton velvet lined bead pot. Each feature was individually made with care using leather, bronze, brass, copper, and mahogany. Personalised initials were added using reclaimed typeface from the Sag Harbour Express newspaper printing studio. The frame for the case was created by weaving hand cut mahogany into a delicate lattice inspired by traditional Shaker basketry
